My vivid Darkness

When the darkness turn up,

My distractions were gone.

Giving space to my confidence,

Ceded the strength for my runs undone.

Heap of thoughts swirled in a circle,

Trying to uncover the unseen oracle.

My darkest moments

Focused on my shadow of thoughts,

Questioning itself while asking it to stop.

“If there is no light,

How can you see your shadow so bright?”

Then my shadow of thoughts,

Played twisted game with my conscience,

Then immersed in my vigilant soul.

This was where I got my answer,

To focus the guiding light which earlier seemed farther.

Now my torn out book of hope is a whole new,

Now my music is complete which was stopped halfway through.

This light in my darkness,

It twinkled like a star,

Connecting the dots, carving the good and bad apart.

I wrote first four lines of this poem in the comment section of one of my fellow blogger. Thanks to him and his beautiful poem “In the darkness”. And i will appreciate if you can let me know what do you infer from this poem because i want to know if i am capable of conveying my thoughts via poetry.

  1. I’m going to say, that when the darkness came, it brought you focus from all that was distracting you in the light; but it also brought fear because in the darkness is ‘evils.’ In the darkness, it’s difficult to see what is bad or what is good. While searching for answers, you saw a glimmering hope that once looked far off. And by refocusing on your hope, in the midst of your darkness, you were able to clearly see the separations between good and evil. Am I close to what you were shooting for?
